The Office - London Edition

We've been working in London for a month now, and thought it would be fun to give you guys a little summary of our office life. Joe and I work at the Belgrave House in Victoria (area in central London). Steve, Warren and Caleb live right next door (where sometimes we wished we lived, especially when we are still at work at 8pm).

My boss sits about 4 seats away from me, but because he is in the same row - he can't really see if I'm online shopping our not. Bad thing is that we have an open plan so everyone else walking by can see me checking out the latest items on Bergdorff Goodman's site. Sadly my online shoe shopping habits have waned due to the poor exchange rate and endless amount of work. My desk is in the first picture above. Joe persistently requested that I place a Korean flag in front of my desk :).

Joe sits on the fun side of the building - just one row away from me. They are always cracking jokes, racing around on the Segway, and playing music on their boomboxes. Those sales guys.

Once a month we get massages in the atrium (for free!). There is a massage chair we can use anytime, but we rarely have time to go downstairs and hang out.

In the break rooms we have snacks galore! Joe still misses Cliff Bars, which they have occasionally. I am quite content with Maltesers (Britain's version of Malt Balls). I just noticed from the photo that we have Jaffa Cakes. I've actually never tried those, but heard people rave about them (i.e. Jackie).

On Fridays, we have pre-parties called TGIFs where the beer flows free with a slice of pizza. The sessions are hosted by 1 of 2 very funny Googlers who highlight the sales wins of the week, welcome the Nooglers (New Googlers, get it), as well as something called 'Looky Likey' - matching up Googlers to famous faces. I've learned to eat at the TGIF because the happy hours after work last a pretty long time. :) Cheers!

If you are even in town, you can come have free lunch in our 'canteen' (aka cafeteria).

*Travel Updates*
Joe travels to Hamburg and Frankfurt, Germany for the next 2 days. Possibly back to Stockholm the following week. If so, I may likely tag along to say 'hi' to my clients as well. :)
