Just got back from holiday and in the middle of management training and a trip to Dublin this week. I'm up late because I was so excited to see how the photos from Iceland turned out. Gorgeous! I'm still getting to know my Canon 30D but it is performing marvelously.
Brief highlights of our trip...
* Sunlight for about 7 hours a day
* During the night a storm brought on 90 mile/hour winds
* We missed the Northern Lights because of poor visibility most nights (so the photo I have is of a photo)
* Water in one of the farm houses smelled like rotten eggs because they got it straight from the geyser
* Icelanders love to eat lamb
* The number of glaciers I saw made up for the one I missed in Alaska
* Iceland had great snacks! Something like Funions covered in Paprika and something that tastes like chocolate covered Kix
* Iceland vodka filtered by volcanic rock makes great mix drinks (add SevenUp and a splash of pineapple juice -- Thanks Warren!)
* Iceland has black sand beaches - Too bad when we were there it was between 0C and 4C
